Accelerating trade, a main goal of RAI

TEHRAN – The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAI) has said increasing the speed of business is an important goal of this company, adding that RAI’s main priority is to fully support the private sector.

“Most of the time, railway freights arrive within three days from the northeast of the country to the northern ports, but they are mostly unloaded and cleared after a delay of fifty days, and this greatly affects the decrease in the speed of trade,” Miad Salehi said in a meeting with the representatives of private railway companies.

“Some of the problems of rail transport companies have roots of 30 to 50 years, and it is not possible to solve all of them at the same time, but it is necessary to plan to solve them gradually,” Salehi said.

“Our main priority is to fully support the healthy and disciplined private sector,” he added.
